HiQ Tyres & Autocare has an exciting new opportunity for a MOT Tester Technician to join the team in our Shrewsbury Centre. The role is offered on a full‑time permanent basis, Monday – Friday 8:00am to 6:00pm Mon‑Thurs 08:00 to 05:00 Friday.
What you will be doing as a MOT Tester Technician:
- Conduct MOT tests on various types of vehicles, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
- Use hand tools and power tools effectively to perform necessary repairs or adjustments.
- Document test results accurately and provide feedback to vehicle owners regarding any issues found.
- Stay updated on changes in MOT regulations and testing procedures.
- Always maintain health and safety standards, working within company guidelines and safe working practices.
- Complete job cards, maintenance records, and associated paperwork to a high standard.
- To undertake any additional duties (within reason) for the efficient running of the Store.
- Work on all makes and models of vehicle.
- Perform diagnostics, servicing, and repairs.
- Inspect vehicle components, including brakes, lights, steering, and exhaust systems.
What you will need:
- Experience within a fast‑fit car centre or a recognised vehicle franchise dealership.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands‑on experience using hand tools and power tools.
- A valid MOT Tester licence is essential.
- Vehicle technician qualification and relevant experience.
- Must have a full driver’s licence with no more than 9 points.
