Senior Mobile (i OS) Developer to join our Hippo Herd. The role blends strategy, design, and technology to solve complex problems and create lasting value in a collaborative, agile culture.
As a
Senior Mobile (i OS) Developer , you will act as a Senior Consultant delivering mobile development services.
You will lead technical delivery within a squad, ensuring excellence and mentoring others to maintain high standards of software engineering.
Your Role in a Nutshell
- Lead the production of user‑centred software, ensuring development aligns with business requirements and follows best practice.
- Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to explore, design, and deliver solutions to complex client problems.
- Take ownership of mobile architectural decisions and deployment pipelines, resolving issues before they arise.
- Communicate and present prototypes, solutions, and progress to internal and external stakeholders clearly and concisely.
- Build strong relationships with your team and stakeholders, identifying and overcoming challenges.
- Mentor engineers and support consultants through coaching and guidance.
- Promote Hippo’s Engineering Herd internally and externally through knowledge sharing, workshops, or blogs.
- About the Candidate
Essential Experience
- Excellent experience in Native Development with Swift (i OS).
- Proven track record of delivering high‑quality, robust, and scalable native applications within a delivery team.
- Expertise in coaching and guiding others toward optimal technical solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to articulate in both technical and non‑technical terms.
- Extensive experience in the full development lifecycle delivering user‑centred mobile solutions.
- Advanced skills in mobile architecture patterns (MVVM, Clean Architecture) and modularisation.
- Expert knowledge of mobile‑centric integration, including RESTful APIs, Graph QL, and Firebase.
- Strong grasp of the mobile release lifecycle, including automated testing and App Store/Play Store compliance.
- Proficiency in agile methods and techniques such as Scrum, Kanban, and TDD.
- Strong experience in mobile‑specific CI/CD pipelines (Bitrise, Fastlane, or Git Hub Actions).
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience working on GOV/NHS projects or in a consultancy environment.
- Proficiency in cross‑platform frameworks such as Flutter (Dart).
