Hippo Staffing is recruiting on behalf of our client — a well-established industrial and mechanical services contractor based in Manchester. We are seeking an experienced Industrial Plumber with strong welding and pipefitting skills to join their growing team. The successful candidate will work across a range of industrial, commercial, and plant environments, carrying out installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing and mechanical systems to a high standard of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair industrial and commercial plumbing systems.
- Carry out pipefitting, welding, and fabrication (predominantly stainless steel and mild steel).
- Work with heating, water, and process pipework systems.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with site procedures and regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with other trades and site supervisors.
- Conduct testing, fault finding, and commissioning as required.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an industrial plumber or mechanical pipefitter.
- Competent in welding and brazing (TIG/MIG desirable).
- Willing to undertake frequent travel with some overnight stays.
- Understanding of health & safety and safe systems of work.
- Relevant trade qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent).
- CSCS or JIB card preferred.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Must be based in or around Manchester.
