Hippo Staffing is recruiting on behalf of a client — a well-established provider of high-quality, therapeutic residential care for children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD). We are seeking a Registered Manager to lead a therapeutic children's home in Prescot, ensuring the highest standards of care, compliance, and outcomes for young people. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced leader who is passionate about trauma-informed practice and creating a nurturing environment where children can thrive. Our client is also open to considering a strong Deputy Manager who is ready to take the next step into a Registered Manager position.
Responsibilities
- Provide strong leadership and management to the staff team, promoting a culture of care, respect, and professional development.
- Ensure the home operates in full compliance with Ofsted regulations and Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015.
- Develop, implement, and review care plans that reflect a therapeutic and trauma-informed approach.
- Lead on safeguarding and risk management, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all young people.
- Work collaboratively with social workers, therapists, education professionals, and external agencies.
- Manage budgets, staffing levels, and rota planning effectively.
- Drive continuous improvement and maintain high inspection outcomes.
Requirements
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards).
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a managerial or deputy managerial role within a children’s residential setting.
- Strong understanding of therapeutic and trauma-informed care models.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- A passion for improving the lives and futures of young people.
- Full UK driving licence.
