Hippo Staffing are recruiting on behalf of a respected specialist care organisation for an experienced Service Manager Learning Disabilities to oversee a Specialist Supported Living service in Crewe. This exceptional service consists of four bungalows supporting individuals with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, acquired brain injuries, autism, or mental health conditions. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and skilled Service Manager Learning Disabilities who is committed to delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care and leading a dedicated support team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clear, structured day‑to‑day leadership to ensure the service delivers exceptional support.
- Be vigilant and proactive in reporting any safeguarding concerns regarding vulnerable individuals.
- Support the growth and development of the service while upholding the organisation's values and culture.
- Recruit, support and develop new team members, identifying training needs and working with internal training teams.
- Lead staff to enable service users to live fulfilling, independent lives based on their individual goals.
- Participate in interviews for new care packages alongside senior management.
- Ensure appropriate risk assessments are in place and implemented effectively.
- Oversee induction and assessment programmes for new service users.
- Promote a person‑centred, needs‑led approach aligned with organisational values, policies and CQC standards.
- Maintain positive working relationships with key external stakeholders including Adult Social Care, Health partners, CCGs and other professionals.
- Ensure excellent communication across the service, external agencies and service users' support networks.
- Work collaboratively with external clinical or specialist partners such as NAS, SaLT and psychological services.
Ideal Candidate
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills with the ability to support and develop teams.
- Maybo Level 2 training (or willingness to complete upon appointment).
- A minimum Level 2 qualification in Health & Social Care.
- Previous experience within Supported Living or Residential services.
- Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities or mental health conditions (highly advantageous).
- Willingness to undertake further professional development (Level 3 or 4 Health & Social Care, Level 5 Diploma in Management).
- The ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced and demanding environment.
