We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Agency Support Worker to provide dedicated 1 : 1 support for a child in a residential children’s home in Leicester. This role involves working closely with the child to meet their individual needs, support their development, and promote positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide consistent 1 : 1 care and support to the child in line with their individual care plan.
  • Build positive relationships based on trust, empathy, and respect.
  • Support educational, social, and emotional development.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and model appropriate social interactions.
  • Maintain accurate records and report any concerns to senior staff.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider team, including external professionals when required.

Person Specification / Requirements

  • Previous experience working in a children’s home or similar setting is essential.
  • Experience providing 1 : 1 support to children with complex needs.
  • Understanding of child development and safeguarding principles.
  • Ability to remain patient, calm, and professional in challenging situations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required.
