We are recruiting an Intermediate Content Designer to work as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes data, design, product, delivery, analysis and engineering. The role involves creating clear, concise and accessible content that helps users achieve their goals.
Your Role in a Nutshell:
- Write and iterate clear, concise content for digital services, ensuring it follows style guides and accessibility standards (WCAG).
- Participate in user research and use findings to map out content journeys that reduce user effort.
- Collaborate with interaction designers to decide on the best format for content (e.g., text, video, toolkits, or interactive components).
- Facilitate 'content crits' to gather feedback and ensure high standards across the team.
- Manage end‑to‑end content production, from initial draft to stakeholder approval and publishing.
About the Candidate:
Essential Experience:- Proven experience in content design or copywriting within an Agile delivery environment.
- Ability to simplify complex jargon or legal requirements for a general audience.
- Experience using evidence from user research and web analytics to guide content decisions.
- Strong understanding of accessibility and how to write for screen readers and neurodivergent users.
- Experience working on public sector projects following GDS standards.
- Knowledge of content management systems (CMS) and basic HTML.
- Experience contributing to a content community of practice or style guide development.
