As a Senior Python Developer, you will play an important role in making Hippo the best Consultancy out there. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team combining data, design, product, delivery, analysis and engineering to deliver bespoke digital services that make a positive and meaningful impact on organisations and society. You will act as a Senior Consultant to deliver Python Development services to our clients. Senior Python Developers are experienced practitioners who lead by example, ensuring technical excellence within squads and mentoring other members of the engineering community. Our solutions empower our customers to build and support secure, scalable, and well-engineered systems beyond traditional boundaries that allow our customers to understand and get the most from their data and digital services. The Senior Python Developer will be a key player and implementer in this. Your Role in Nutshell: Lead the production of user-centred software, ensuring development is based on business requirements and follows best practice. Manage software development and deployment pipelines, resolving issues and potential bottlenecks. Mentor other engineers and support consultants in their professional development. Skills and experience that you needEssential ExperienceExcellent experience in Python. Proven track record of delivering high-quality, robust solutions within a delivery team. Experience coaching and guiding others on the best way to achieve an optimal solution. Extensive experience in the full development lifecycle delivering user-centred digital solutions. Advanced full stack development skills using Python, HTML, CSS & JavaScript. Experience with JavaScript libraries and frameworks such as Node, React, or Angular. Expertise in agile methods (Scrum, Kanban, TDD). Proficiency in Infrastructure As Code (Terraform, Cloudformation) and public cloud environments (AWS, Azure). Proficient in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Azure DevOps. Previous experience of working on GOV/NHS projects. We're on the lookout for top talent nationwide but you need to be located within reasonable travelling distance from one of our offices. Given the dynamic nature of a consulting business, you may be required to work on-site at a Hippo office or at an in/out of town client location for a number of days per week (client dependent) and therefore candidates will need to be open/flexible to travel and working on one of those sites at least 2 days per week.
