We're hiring a New Business Development Executive to help take Hip Pop further across Manchester. You'll be out in the city most days, opening new accounts and turning cafés, independents and venues into Hip Pop stockists. If you're outgoing, ambitious, and the kind of person who can walk into a café and walk out with a new customer, keep reading.

THE COMPANY

Hip Pop is a multi-award-winning challenger soft drinks brand, born in Manchester and on its way to the world. We exist to take on the big pop brands with something better. Our drinks are made from real fruit, gut-friendly live cultures and fibre. They're low in calories, never made with sweeteners, and they actually taste great. Proper good pop. Our range includes our award-winning Soda, Kombucha and CBD Kombucha, and you'll find us in Sainsbury's, Tesco, M&S, Waitrose, Co-op, Morrisons, Bidfood, Zizzi's and plenty more. Since launching in 2019 we've grown fast, and we're based in the heart of Manchester city centre on Deansgate.

THE ROLE

Reporting to: Head of Out of Home
Salary: Circa £30,000 plus up to 20% bonus
Location: Manchester (field-based) and London (Field-based)
Start date: ASAP

This is a field-based, entry-level new business development role. You'll own Manchester or London as your territory and be responsible for getting Hip Pop into new venues and building the brand on the ground. Most days you'll be out on route, visiting cafés, independents and venues across the city, finding out what they stock, what's selling, what their customers are asking for, and showing them why Hip Pop should be on their shelves and in their fridges. You'll log everything in our CRM so we can build on every conversation. The other days you'll be cold calling, prepping your route, supporting trade shows, samplings and events, and feeding back what you're seeing in market.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Pitching Hip Pop and securing new listings across the city.
  • Cold calling and prospecting to keep your pipeline full.
  • Representing the brand at trade shows, sampling sessions and events.
  • Managing your activity through our CRM, hitting your KPIs, and feeding back what you're seeing in market.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

First and foremost, a good human. Someone outgoing, sociable, confident and ambitious who's looked at Hip Pop and felt that excitement of working with this exciting growing brand. You genuinely enjoy meeting new people. You're not fazed by a "no" and you've got the resilience to cold call and walk into venues unannounced. You're energetic, motivated by being out in the field, and you create opportunities rather than wait for them. You're commercially minded, target driven, and you can work independently to own your patch. A driving license is a must. This is an entry-level role, so we're not expecting a long CV. You might be coming straight out of uni, or from hospitality, retail or another customer-facing role. What matters is the attitude, the energy and the appetite to learn. Previous sales experience is a bonus but not essential. But you MUST state on your CV/cover note WHY you would be good for this role. Sell yourself to us.

For the right person, this is a brilliant first step into a commercial career, with real scope to develop into bigger field roles as Hip Pop grows.

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU

The chance to be part of a genuine growth story. If you're committed and you make an impact, the opportunities to grow with us are there. A competitive starting salary with regular reviews, plus 25 days holiday, bank holidays and your birthday off. Pension, Cycle to Work scheme, and (obviously) unlimited Hip Pop.

BASED: 1 X Manchester and 1 X London
START DATE: ASAP
