We are working with a leading manufacturer of packaging machinery and equipment for the food, pharmaceutical and other industries.
We are looking for a technically minded and customer-focused Field Service Engineer to join their growing UK team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys working hands-on, solving technical problems and building strong relationships with customers.
As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, commissioning, servicing and repairing packaging machinery at customer sites throughout the UK.
You will become a key point of contact for their customers, ensuring machinery is operating safely, efficiently and reliably.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and commission new machinery at customer sites.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance, servicing and inspections.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and pneumatic faults.
- Respond to breakdowns and provide effective technical support.
- Carry out machine upgrades, modifications and installations.
- Train customers and operators on the safe and effective use of equipment.
- Complete service reports and maintain accurate records of work undertaken.
- Liaise with customers, colleagues and the wider team to resolve technical issues.
- Provide professional, friendly and responsive customer service at all times.
- Maintain a high standard of health and safety while working on customer sites.
About You
We are looking for someone who is confident working independently and enjoys finding practical solutions to technical problems. Ideally, you will have:
- Previous experience as a Field Service Engineer, Service Engineer, Maintenance Engineer or similar.
- A strong mechanical and/or electrical engineering background.
- Experience fault-finding on industrial machinery.
- Good understanding of electrical, mechanical and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and customer-service skills.
- A professional and flexible approach to working.
- The ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
- A full UK driving licence.
Experience with packaging machinery, food-processing equipment or automation would be advantageous, although full product training will be provided.
