We’re looking for an experienced Senior Quality Engineer to take ownership of quality delivery across New Product Introduction (NPI) and major projects. Based at our client’s head office in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, this is a genuinely hands-on role where your judgement, technical expertise, and ability to influence will make a direct difference. You’ll lead quality from feasibility through to production readiness, ensuring new products are compliant, capable, and fully traceable. You’ll drive APQP through the NPI stage gates and develop the quality framework each programme needs, including control plans, FMEAs, FME procedures, inspection regimes, capability studies, and quality gates. You’ll also lead gap analysis against customer and regulatory requirements, support audits, and accreditation, and manage non-conformance, containment, and corrective action. We’re looking for someone with proven ownership of the full APQP lifecycle and NPI quality delivery, ideally gained within regulated or safety-critical manufacturing. You’ll bring strong practical knowledge of FMEA, MSA, SPC, traceability, material certification, and lifetime records, alongside experience with special processes such as welding, NDE or coatings. Ideally applicants will have several years’ quality engineering experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, backed by an engineering qualification or equivalent experience. ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, CQI membership or Six Sigma would be advantageous. My client designs and manufactures high-integrity pressure vessels for critical sectors including Nuclear, Healthcare, and Renewable Energy.
