A Quality Technician is required by a leading engineering organisation based in Chester. This is a permanent role with a salary up to £36,000pa and will be assisting the Quality Manager in checking supplier conformance capabilities to evaluate new suppliers and the maintenance of existing suppliers. You will also support with timely resolution of customer, supplier, and internal non-conformances to ensure that solutions are appropriate, and issues are resolved to my client’s satisfaction. My client’s organisation specialises in the design, manufacture, and installation of steel products providing high quality, tailored solutions for customers in the UK, Europe and Worldwide. All work is carried out from their head offices in Chester, offering state-of-the-art design, fabrication, machining, and assembly work. Reporting to the Quality Manager your key responsibilities for this Quality Technician role will be: * Assist in ensuring that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the Quality Management System to fulfil our regulatory requirements and maintain consistency. * Using 8D or similar analysis techniques determine root cause and corrective actions – Implement solutions to create performance improvements. * Interface with various other Departments to ensure transfer to production on new products are in accordance with approved data. * Conduct both internal and external audits of quality system as directed. * Maintain Company calibration system as required. * Preparation of Quality Inspection and Test Plans / Procedures and any associated Quality documentation required by the contract. * Visit site installations as a when required viewing progress and sign off installation to ensure that contract Quality requirements have been met. * Assist in the maintenance and update of Quality documentation. i.e. Quality manual/ procedures/flow charts etc. * Liaise on a 1 to 1 basis with Customers on Quality matters. * Prepare reports as and when required. Key skills and experience required for this role will ideally include: * HNC/HND or equivalent in an engineering discipline and a Lean Manufacturing qualification would be viewed advantageously. * Quality Technician/Engineering experience with knowledge of ISO90001 Quality Management Systems. * Ideally knowledge of manufacturing processes in fabrication, machining, castings, etc. * The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. * Self-motivated and tenacious to drive work through to completion. * Computer literate with MS Office and MS Project.
