Our client is a specialist engineering and construction contractor operating across the UK water industry, partnering with major water companies to deliver complex infrastructure solutions. Due to continued growth and company expansion, they are recruiting an Engineering Manager. This is a permanent position with a salary guide up to £90k and will be managing a multi-disciplinary team and lead delivery of water industry designs ensuring time and quality expectations. This role will be based in our clients’ offices in Manchester, with the opportunity for hybrid working for a strong candidate.
This Engineering Manager role will be responsible for:
- Leading and developing multi-disciplinary teams including engineers, CAD technicians, and graduates, providing mentorship and acting as Professional Head for the design function.
- Identify and implement safe, efficient, value-engineered design solutions, clearly communicating proposals to clients and project teams.
- Oversee production of integrated design deliverables, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and relevant technical and water industry standards.
- Manage design delivery to agreed timescales, budgets, and formal procedures, including estimating hours and ensuring all project changes are accurately recorded.
- Drive innovation through adoption of appropriate software, BIM, and 3D modelling, while interpreting and communicating evolving standards and procedures.
What we’re looking for:
- Significant engineering experience in the regulated water industry at Principal or Managerial level.
- A good understanding of MEICA, Civils and Process designs.
- A proven track record managing multidisciplinary design teams and projects.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards Chartership.
