As a Phonics and English Intervention Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils’ literacy development across Early Years, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2. You will deliver carefully structured, evidence-based phonics interventions focused on building early reading skills such as blending, segmenting, and decoding.
Working closely with class teachers, literacy leads, and SEN teams, you will tailor support to meet individual pupil needs, including those with additional learning barriers. Your daily work will include preparing resources, running small group and one-to-one sessions, tracking pupil progress, and creating a positive and encouraging learning environment that inspires a love of reading.

We are looking for a compassionate and patient professional who is confident in delivering systematic synthetic phonics interventions and understands early reading development. You will have:
- A relevant qualification such as NVQ Level 2 or equivalent experience
- Experience working with children of primary age or with similar learning needs
- A strong commitment to inclusion, supporting pupils with diverse needs and backgrounds
- Excellent communication skills, able to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents
- The ability to maintain accurate records and monitor progress carefully
