Contract: permanent, 37 hours per week, working Monday to Friday
About the role
We're looking for two Visiting Officers to join the Leicestershire Revenues and Benefits Partnership. You'll carry out visits and inspections across the partnership area, helping us keep council tax and business rates records accurate, support customers and ensure income is collected correctly. The role combines field work, office-based administration and regular contact with residents, businesses and partner organisations.
What you will be doing
- Conduct visits and inspections to support the delivery of revenues and benefits services across the partnership.
- Gather and verify information through visits and council systems using available technology.
- Maintain accurate records of visits undertaken and mileage completed.
- Provide advice on Business Rates reliefs, assist with applications and explain regulations to customers.
- Issue completion notices for council tax and business rates within required time scales.
- Liaise with customers, internal departments and external organisations to support service delivery.
- Plan and coordinate visits efficiently while delivering excellent customer service and supporting continuous service improvements.
About you
You will be an organised and customer focused individual with experience of communicating effectively with customers and managing competing priorities. You will be confident working independently and as part of a team, using your initiative to achieve positive outcomes while maintaining high standards of customer service.
Essential criteria
- GCSE English and Mathematics or equivalent qualification or experience.
- IT literate including use of MS Office, MRI and Enterprise document management systems.
- Basic criminal record check.
- A full valid driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle for work purposes.
- Ability to work outside normal office hours, when required.
