An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit two Grounds Maintenance Operatives in the Green Spaces Team. Working as part of a mobile team you will carry out all aspects of gardening, grounds maintenance and other horticultural tasks at a number of sites throughout the borough and working in an outdoor environment all year round.
Duties include:
- General gardening duties such as maintenance of flower beds, digging, grass cutting, hedge cutting, forking, hoeing, hand weeding bedding, bulbs and shrubs etc.
- Use of horticultural and grass cutting machinery
- Hard and soft landscaping work; desirable criteria includes experience of fencing, paving and the application of pesticides
- Assisting with external cleaning duties – such as litter picking, sweeping, emptying of litter bins, etc.
The successful candidate will require a driving licence and previous experience undertaking grounds maintenance operations and operating horticultural machinery.
