Salary: £33,699 up to £38,220 per annum pro rata.

Grade: 6.

Location: Hinckley, Leicestershire.

Contract: Permanent, 37 hours per week, full time, working Monday to Friday.

About the role

Our Waste Management team within Streetscene Services requires a Waste Management Supervisor to support the delivery of efficient, high-quality frontline waste services across the borough. This is an operational supervisory role that supports efficient service delivery while maintaining safety and performance standards.

What you will be doing:

  • Assist the Waste Management Team Leader in delivering waste collection services
  • Supervise and monitor collection crews
  • Ensure health and safety standards are followed
  • Carry out inspections and compliance checks
  • Maintain operational records (e.g. vehicle checks, driver hours, service documentation)
  • Deputise for the Waste Management Team Leader as required
  • Undertake frontline duties including driving and waste collections where needed to cover staff shortages

About you

You will be a strong team player with good communication and interpersonal skills, with experience of working in a frontline operational environment. You will be able to supervise staff, ensure health and safety standards are maintained and support the delivery of an efficient and effective service.

Essential criteria:

  • Class C driving licence minimum
  • Experience working in a frontline operational or customer orientated environment
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation and safe working practices
  • Ability to supervise staff and communicate effectively
  • Ability to use computerised or handheld devices
  • Physically capable of meeting the demands of the role
