Our Waste Management team within Streetscene Services requires a Waste Management Supervisor to support the delivery of efficient, high-quality frontline waste services across the borough. This is an operational supervisory role that supports efficient service delivery while maintaining safety and performance standards.
What you will be doing:
- Assist the Waste Management Team Leader in delivering waste collection services
- Supervise and monitor collection crews
- Ensure health and safety standards are followed
- Carry out inspections and compliance checks
- Maintain operational records (e.g. vehicle checks, driver hours, service documentation)
- Deputise for the Waste Management Team Leader as required
- Undertake frontline duties including driving and waste collections where needed to cover staff shortages
About you:
You will be a strong team player with good communication and interpersonal skills, with experience of working in a frontline operational environment. You will be able to supervise staff, ensure health and safety standards are maintained and support the delivery of an efficient and effective service.
Essential criteria:
- Class C driving licence minimum
- Experience working in a frontline operational or customer orientated environment
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation and safe working practices
- Ability to supervise staff and communicate effectively
- Ability to use computerised or handheld devices
- Physically capable of meeting the demands of the role
