The predicted salary is between 24027 - 24404 £ per year.

Grade 2, £24,027 up to £24,404 per annum pro rata

37 hours per week, permanent contract

Start and finish times may vary dependent on shift, normally working Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 3.30pm and Friday 7.30am to 3.00pm

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a Grounds Maintenance Operative in the Green Spaces team. Working as part of a mobile team you will carry out all aspects of gardening, grounds maintenance and other horticultural tasks at a number of sites throughout the borough and working in an outdoor environment all year round.

Duties include:

  • General gardening duties such as maintenance of flower beds, digging, grass cutting, hedge cutting, forking, hoeing, hand weeding bedding, bulbs and shrubs etc.
  • Use of horticultural and grass cutting machinery
  • Hard and soft landscaping work; desirable criteria includes experience of fencing, paving and the application of pesticides
  • Assisting with external cleaning duties – such as litter picking, sweeping, emptying of litter bins etc.
