About the Role
The Counsel, International will report to the Managing Counsel, Corporate and International, and be responsible for supporting the UK business. We are seeking a qualified UK lawyer with deep expertise in healthcare regulation and healthcare advertising law to support our growing digital health and consumer marketing operations. This role sits at the intersection of life sciences, healthcare compliance, and marketing/consumer protection law, advising on compliant promotion of healthcare products and services across the UK and EU. You will partner closely with marketing, product, medical, and compliance teams to ensure that all external communications meet regulatory standards while enabling innovative, consumerâfriendly campaigns. You would also help support other aspects of the UK business, as the first territory lawyer outside of the United States. Further, this individual will support the growth of Hims & Hers' international business in other markets outside of the UK and EU, like Canada.
You Will
- Provide legal advice on UK healthcare and life sciences regulations, including MHRA, CQC, and private healthcare frameworks
- Review and approve marketing and advertising materials for healthcare products and services (digital, social, TV, print), and provide marketing guidelines for the business
- Advise on compliance with ASA/CAP Code and BCAP Code, DMCC Act, and ABPI Code of Practice
- Support product launches and growth campaigns, ensuring claims are substantiated and compliant
- Counsel on telehealth and digital health services, including online prescribing and patient journeys
- Manage risk assessments for campaigns and propose practical, businessâfriendly solutions
- Handle regulatory inquiries and liaise with bodies such as ASA, MHRA, and CQC when needed
- Monitor regulatory developments in UK/EU healthcare regulatory space, including those in advertising and digital health
- Provide practical, actionable, solutionâoriented legal advice to enable efficient and effective decisionâmaking
- Cultivate a keen understanding of the company's global business model, technologies, and goals to inform legal guidance, strategy, and initiatives
You Have
- Qualified solicitor in the UK, Ireland, or another EU jurisdiction
- 5+ years of legal experience P.Q.E (PostâQualified Experience) â flexible depending on experience
- Experience at a top law firm, inâhouse legal team, or regulatory body
- Experience advising UK healthcare product and marketing teams
- Ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic, fastâpaced environment with shifting priorities
- Strong leadership and communication skills, excellent business judgment, and a creative mindset
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the EU healthcare legal landscape
- Experience in other international markets
- Experience working in an inâhouse corporate department at a multinational technology or highâgrowth company
- Background in tech, consumer goods, health tech, pharmaceutical, or digital product industries
