We are looking for a passionate and driven Sous Chef to join our kitchen team at Holiday Inn Manchester City Centre. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced hotel kitchen where creativity, teamwork and quality are at the heart of everything we do. Supporting the Head Chef, you will play a key role in leading the brigade, maintaining high standards, and helping deliver exceptional food for our guests.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen, stepping into their shoes in their absence
  • Leading and motivating the brigade to deliver consistently high-quality dishes
  • Recreating dishes developed by our Head Chef and kitchen team
  • Creating exciting and profitable menus
  • Coaching, mentoring and developing junior chefs within the brigade
  • Monitoring portion control, waste management and labour productivity to maintain strong profit margins
  • Identifying innovative ways to improve financial performance without compromising on quality
  • Ensuring all food preparation meets the highest standards of food safety, hygiene and health & safety regulations

What we’re looking for

  • An experienced Sous Chef or a strong Chef de Partie ready to take the next step
  • Excellent cooking skills and the ability to perform in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Strong leadership skills with a passion for developing others
  • A solid understanding of produce, ingredients and food cost control
  • Creativity to design specials that are both exciting and commercially successful
  • A flexible, adaptable and hardworking approach
  • A positive attitude and the ability to bring energy and fun to the kitchen team
  • Experience working in a hotel kitchen environment would be beneficial but is not essential.
