An Assistant Security Manager directs security personnel and collaborates with Department Heads to ensure a safe Guest and Member experience while maintaining compliance with local safety legislation and hotel emergency procedures.
What will I be doing?
As an Assistant Security Manager, you will coordinate security activities, work with Department Heads to ensure staff understand security procedures, and organize patrols of the property to ensure safety. You will also ensure hotel compliance with safety regulations and be familiar with emergency procedures. Your responsibilities include:
- Maintaining good communication and relationships across hotel departments
- Liaising with government and law enforcement agencies as needed
- Coordinating additional personnel for conferences and banquets
- Organizing patrols of boundary areas, bedrooms, offices, storage, public areas, and function rooms
- Assisting with local fire safety legislation compliance
- Ensuring adherence to all safety and security protocols, including fire prevention and escape routes
- Investigating thefts and incidents, reporting appropriately
- Overseeing security personnel activities, implementing safety procedures, and advising other departments
- Preparing incident reports and following up on allegations
- Training staff on security responsibilities and emergency procedures
- Managing key control across departments
What are we looking for?
The ideal candidate is organized, systematic, experienced in security supervision, SIA licensed, and possesses strong leadership and communication skills. You should be able to respond to demanding situations, deliver excellent customer service, and work under pressure with flexibility. Good grooming standards are essential.
Preferred additional qualifications include previous experience in a similar role, First Aid, firefighting certification, and IT skills.
