What the Role Looks Like:

The diversity of our Crane fleet is second-to-none! This enables us to specialise in all industries and always keep our modern fleet of Crane trucks busy, transporting diverse loads and attending to a wide variety of tasks for our customers within New Zealand. No day is ever the same! Based out of our Christchurch depot (Hillsborough), we are seeking a capable Class 5 driver to join our dynamic Crane and Technical Transport Team, working locally - predominantly in the Greater Christchurch/Canterbury region. Ideally applicants will have prior Crane (Hiab) experience operating purpose-built trucks with a Palfinger Crane Unit – however, training and development can be given to dedicated and motivated individuals who are keen to learn and develop in this area. Operators must pride themselves on exceeding customers’ expectations and providing a high level of service as the rest of our team do – and be flexible to meet the needs of the team and our customers. Your attention to safety, maintenance, and vehicle operation will reflect the high standards our loyal customers and suppliers expect.

Work Pattern:

Full-time, permanent role with a regular roster: Monday – Friday with some occasional weekend work as required due to seasonal / business demands. Average shift: 10–12 hours.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Class 5 Licence, ideally with a minimum of 2 years driving / crane (Hiab) operating experience – or a very strong willingness and ability to learn and develop.
  • NZQA Unit Standard 16617 preferred – or a willingness to be supported to work towards achieving this.
  • F, DG endorsement and OSH Certificate (preferred, but not essential).
  • Flexibility, dedication and reliability.
  • A knack for learning new technology.
  • A passion for teamwork and customer service.

Applicants must possess eligibility to permanently work in NZ. For shortlisted applicants, any subsequent offer of employment will be subject to passing a pre-employment driving assessment and the satisfactory completion of a range of background checks including a pre-employment Drug & Alcohol test, a Ministry of Justice and an ACC check.
