Reporting to the Head of Housekeeping, the main job duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervise the Housekeeping Team and support the Head Housekeeper in the day-to-day operation of the department
  • Ensure all accommodation units and communal areas are cleaned and maintained to the required company standards
  • Allocate work effectively and monitor performance to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard
  • Provide training, guidance and support to team members
  • Maintain adequate stocks of cleaning materials, chemicals, linen and housekeeping supplies
  • Conduct stock checks and assist with departmental stocktakes
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety procedures, including COSHH, risk assessments and PPE requirements
  • Report and record accidents, incidents, maintenance issues and defects appropriately
  • Liaise with the Maintenance Team and external contractors regarding repairs and maintenance work
  • Assist with departmental administration, reporting and attending meetings in the absence of the Head Housekeeper
  • Review guest feedback and support initiatives that improve cleanliness standards and guest satisfaction
  • Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure smooth resort operations
  • Lead by example, promote company values and contribute to a positive working environment
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties required to support the efficient operation of the resort

Qualifications, skills and experience required to fulfil the role include:

  • Housekeeping operations within a hotel, resort or hospitality environment
  • Cleaning methods, chemicals and equipment
  • Health & safety legislation, including COSHH and risk assessments
  • Stock control and inventory management
  • Guest service and quality standards
  • Team leadership and supervision
  • Training and coaching others
  • Organisation and time management
  • Attention to detail
  • Problem solving and decision making
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure
  • Basic computer skills, administration and reporting skills
  • Leads by example and demonstrates professionalism

The role demands 32 hours of work per week, including weekends and Bank Holidays, on a rotating shift basis. Own transport is required due to the location of the resort.
