What We Are Looking For
We are looking for a professional and experienced Operations Manager to own the end-to-end operational activity for seafood site ensuring it is relevant, supports the overarching Seafood strategy and drives measurable improvement across the business.
To drive and support efficiency activity across the entire operational workstreams ensuring alignment to the site and groups financial goals.
To manage all aspects of the site Operations and Despatch functions across Hilton Seafood site UK and be the interface between Hilton Seafoods, Hilton Group and customer colleagues, across all areas of operations reporting and improvement.
To create, implement and monitor operational strategies that promote increased long term efficiency improvements, stock holding, right first time, service level and embedding a lean framework and culture as well as the financial success for the seafood business.
Key Responsibilities As An Operations Manager Will Be To
- Ensure regular data is provided for service, engaging our customers and putting our customers at the heart of all that we do.
- Lead and champion the businesses culture and employee engagement of the operational business functions.
- Provide the business with long, medium and short term schedules and strategies that maximise production efficiency, labour utilisation and minimise waste.
- As per identified frequencies – ensure accurate and timely stock countstake place across the direct areas of accountability
- Ensure the site has an identified and clear VSM on all processes and manage path to future state.
- Ensure all operational paperwork and transactions are completed on time, and efficiently.
- Progress the team\’s development needs and succession planning by conducting both PDR\’s, 1-1\’s and team meetings.
- Ensure effective lines of communications are in place between operations, the SMT, the rest of the business and externally where appropriate
- On-going review of the operational function to support business strategies adapted to changing market conditions, new business opportunities, or cost reduction strategies
- Ensure the culture of continuous improvement is maintained and developed within the business
- Develop and continuously review the operational strategy within the business to highlight potential risks and mitigate against them in conjunction with the SMT
- Analyse and action KPI information to understand areas in need of improvement and use these to push the business forward, striving for \’Best in Class\’
- Ensure and lead Health and Safety best practices across whole business as well as specific area of accountability.
Required experience/expertise to succeed as an Operations Manager will include:
- Degree level ideally in Food science or Business Management.
- Awareness of world class improvement techniques.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and project leadership skills
- Experience in Project management and/or participation in project teams
- Sound analytical and problem-solving ability
- A proven ambassador of identifying cost effective solutions to identified operational challenges.
- Kaizen and cost saving awareness.
- Competent presentation skills and confident in their delivering to both internal and external audiences.
- Previous manufacturing experience
