Hilton Foods UK is seeking a Site Energy Technician to help support energy efficiency and optimisation projects across our sites. This is a great opportunity for someone with a good practical grounding in engineering, utilities or manufacturing who wants to develop their career in energy and sustainability. We are not looking for a narrow technical specialist; instead, we want someone who can bring sound basic knowledge, a practical mindset and the ability to work across teams to help improve how our site uses energy.
You’ll work with Engineering, Site Services and Sustainability colleagues to support energy projects, review key equipment performance, maintain energy-related records and schematics, and help identify practical opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce emissions.
Key responsibilities- Support site energy improvement and optimisation projects
- Assist with monitoring Significant Energy Users (SEUs) and key assets
- Maintain sub-metering maps, schematics and asset registers
- Help review plant set points and operating parameters
- Liaise with contractors and internal stakeholders
- Support the verification of sub-metering effectiveness
- Contribute ideas and actions that improve energy performance
- Basic familiarity with heating, cooling or other site plant/equipment
- Comfortable reading technical drawings or schematics
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Confident using Microsoft Office tools
- Practical, methodical and eager to learn
- Ideally, some experience in manufacturing, engineering or energy-related work
This role could suit a graduate with relevant placement experience, or someone already working in industry who is looking to grow into an energy-focused profession. This role is offered on a fixed-term contract of 9 months. We are not able to offer sponsorship for this role.
