The Role

  • Ensure top-tier food safety and quality every day by actively monitoring and upholding GMP and product standards across every stage—from intake to dispatch.
  • Collaborate closely with the QA Manager and Operations team to guarantee that every product is manufactured and packed to precise specifications, achieving the highest quality benchmarks while maintaining food safety and compliance with legal standards.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and maintain quality and technical requirements within the factory environment.
  • Ensure all customer and legal requirements are met.
  • Ensure all raw materials, processed products, and finished products conform to specifications.
  • Ensure incoming raw materials and packaging meet internal specifications.
  • Carry out Quality and Technical duties as defined by the Technical and Quality Managers.
  • Conduct customer benchmarking panels, shelf‑life testing, consistency checks, customer complaint panels, online reviews, and other sensory requirements as defined by customers, inputting results directly into customer web‑based systems.
  • Report any non‑conformance issues to the Line Manager in a timely manner.
  • Challenge fellow work colleagues to ensure compliance with the highest standards in the business.
  • Collect samples for laboratory testing.
  • Support the production team to complete tasks accurately and ensure compliance with company food safety procedures.
  • Drive “right first‑time” behaviors among colleagues across multi‑disciplined teams.
  • Carry out checks at set intervals to ensure adherence to specifications.
  • Support customer audits and visits.
  • Work closely with Production and NPD teams to maintain smooth site operations and technical compliance.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Level 3 Food Hygiene (or equivalent).
  • Quality Auditing experience.
  • Internal Auditing Qualification.
  • Root Causes Analysis.
  • Intermediate HACCP.
  • Experience of working in chilled environments.
  • Knowledge of fish products.
  • Ability to take part in audits.
  • A personal commitment to role model behaviours and setting the standard.
  • A working understanding of Microsoft Office.
