We are looking for a professional and experienced NAWI (Automation) Engineer to join our growing Engineering team. As a NAWI Engineer you will provide engineering support to all automated automotive (NAWI) warehouse and conveyor systems, ensuring breakdown response, preventative maintenance, and continuous improvement activities are completed to required safety, quality and performance standards.
Key responsibilities as a NAWI (Automation) Engineer will be to:
- Diagnose faults and carry out remedial actions to required engineering standards
- Perform planned preventive maintenance (PPM) on all automated systems
- Propose and implement equipment improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency
- Attend PIT meetings to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) in collaboration with production and logistics teams
- Complete accurate breakdown and maintenance reports
- Ensure correct booking out of spare parts from stores
- Support installation and commissioning of new equipment
- Contribute to special engineering and improvement projects
- Provide technical support and guidance to warehouse operatives
- Work with contractors as required
- Comply with hygiene, health & safety, and company policies
Required experience/expertise to succeed as a NAWI (Automation) Engineer will include:
- Recognised electrical apprenticeship to ONC/HNC level or equivalent
- Strong electrical bias with proven experience in control systems (PLCs, contactors, relays, safety circuits)
- Good mechanical knowledge
- Experience in automated environments (essential)
- Experience in food manufacturing environments (advantageous)
