We are looking for an ambitious and passionate NPD & Process Buyer who will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing and coordinating all materials, components and services required to support new product development, process trials and sample production. The role ensures that development timelines are met by procuring cost‑effective, compliant and high‑quality materials, while working closely with NPD, Technical, Supply Chain and suppliers to enable smooth product launches and continuous process improvement. You will work closely with the HFUK/SVC Procurement team to ensure that all packaging, ingredients and launch information are procured at the correct price and all launch information is handed over correctly.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the HFUK Procurement Team to provide the correct information needed for the team to procure products for launches.
  • Engage with suppliers and internal NPD on product development ideas and attend NPD meetings.
  • Maintain a relationship with the product development team to ensure full awareness of new products being developed and ensure availability of packaging and ingredients.
  • Source and purchase raw materials, packaging, components and services required for new product development, process trials and sample builds.
  • Ensure materials are available in line with agreed NPD timelines, trial schedules and gate milestones.
  • Identify, onboard and manage suppliers suitable for NPD and low‑volume/sample requirements.
  • Obtain quotations, negotiate pricing, lead times and MOQs appropriate to development activity.
  • Work closely with NPD, Technical, Quality, Operations and Supply Chain teams to understand specifications, trial needs and launch risks.
  • Manage NPD and sampling spend.
  • Procure materials for factory trials, scale‑ups and continuous improvement projects.
  • React quickly to changes, shortages or reformulations during trial phases.
  • Coordinate sample ordering, tracking, storage and timely delivery to internal teams.
  • Manage obsolete or excess sample materials in line with procedures.
  • Track spend, lead times and performance metrics related to NPD, sample and process procurement.
  • Achieve KPI of NPD, trial and sample materials delivered on or before required dates.
  • Act as point of contact for all NPD, Process and sample ingredient and packaging requests.
  • Attend stage and gate meetings and NPD meetings.

Qualifications

  • Proven scheduling and procurement experience.
  • Ability to liaise with site management teams.
  • Pro‑actively engage the Procurement team with ideas for development.
  • Experience within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
