In this part‑time role at the Auckland facility, you will support the manufacturing facility through continuous quality improvement, ensuring that products meet the customer specification and are safe, compliant and of high quality.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain awareness of the regulatory environment and new developments in quality assurance and management.
  • Develop methods to gather and analyse data and quality information to identify quality issues.
  • Collaborate with partners, buyers, vendors and other stakeholders to develop solutions to quality issues in accordance with PMLS (Product Management Lifestyle Systems) and ensure reliable supply of products.
  • Maintain and enhance QA work processes and systems.
  • Develop corrective actions for product quality issues.
  • Coach commercial partners in quality standards and processes.
  • Lead quality assurance visits, such as production factory audits.
  • Ensure company policies and procedures fully implement government compliance standards for assigned products/categories.
  • Develop longer‑term plans, including recommendations for changes in quality assurance methods for the product/category.

Qualifications

  • Proven background in food manufacturing; experience in the meat and/or seafood industry highly regarded.
  • Food Safety Qualification Certificate 4.
  • Food Technologist Qualification tested at NZQA Level 6 or higher.
  • Previous experience in a Quality Assurance role.
  • Sound communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Exceptional problem‑solving, organisational and planning skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Driven to meet business standards and customer expectations, and to attain ‘best in class’.
  • High attention to detail.
