Purpose of the role: The Store Liaison Officer will act as the key operational link between the manufacturing business and retail customers, ensuring that product quality, availability, and in‑store standards meet agreed expectations. The role involves conducting regular store visits across the UK, assessing product performance, and providing actionable insights back to both internal teams (e.g. Hilton) and external customers. This role is fundamentally about bridging the “factory vs shelf” gap—turning real store insight into measurable quality improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular UK‑wide store visits to assess product quality, availability, and on‑shelf standards
  • Act as the link between Hilton, retail stores, and the customer (e.g. Tesco)
  • Inspect products for quality, compliance, packaging integrity and date control
  • Capture structured data (photos, scores, insights) during store visits
  • Produce clear, concise reports highlighting issues, trends, and risks
  • Escalate quality concerns quickly and support root‑cause investigations
  • Build relationships with store teams to resolve issues and gather feedback
  • Provide actionable insights to drive product quality improvement and complaint reduction
  • Monitor effectiveness of corrective actions through repeat store visits
  • Identify trends and support continuous improvement across products and regions
  • Represent the business professionally in all customer and store interactions
  • Operate independently in a field‑based role with significant travel

Required Experience / Expertise:

Essential:

  • Strong attention to detail and observational skills
  • Experience in food manufacturing, retail, or quality assurance
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage a travel‑based role
  • Competence with data capture tools (Excel, apps, reporting systems)
  • Driving licence

Desirable:

  • Experience working with major retailers (e.g. Tesco)
  • Understanding of food safety and quality standards
  • Background in auditing, QA, or technical roles
  • Ability to analyse trends and provide actionable insights
