What we are looking for
We are looking for a professional and experienced Night Hygiene Supervisor to coordinate the Hygiene team to safely deliver hygiene procedures and methodology which ensure that the Manufacturing facility meets all regulatory standards and customer (internal and external) expectations for the site. To maintain and develop the hygiene systems and documentation that control and drive the standards required by Hilton and our retail customers. Facilitate and manage the implementation and ongoing requirements of the HFG Health & Safety framework and be able to support sister sites in Grimsby where and if required.
Responsibilities
- To identify hygiene requirements by monitoring changes in the production environment to ensure safe food is delivered in compliance with regulatory, retailer COPs and industry best practice.
- Instruct the Chemical supplier of any changes required to the CICs and associated schedules for their alteration on the ‘Gateway’ system they provide.
- To verify post hygiene standards by means of visual inspection/audits and environmental & allergen swabbing where appropriate; record the results and have SMART preventative actions for any non‑conformance noted through inspection or swabbing. The audits need to be closed in a timely manner and measured via trending weekly/monthly results.
- Manage the day to day running of your hygiene shift to ensure the right people are in the right place at the right time to ensure a smooth handover to Operations.
- To have an understanding of microbiology and the implications of out‑of‑spec environmental and Listeria swabbing; conduct routine, in‑depth investigations on any OOS results and use Root Cause Analysis to prevent reoccurrence.
- To ensure the hygiene documentation and supporting data, is in place on the ‘Gateway’ system, accurately populated and easy to retrieve.
- To deliver training and mentoring to team members ensuring they have the skills, knowledge, tools and understanding to successfully complete their role and have a training plan to support their development. Long term to develop the team into a high performing, efficient and motivated hygiene team who will challenge the status quo in order to continually improve.
- To assist the Hygiene Management in the risk assessment process for any new equipment, ensuring the delivery of any required training requirements supported with clear CIC’s.
- Build high quality working relationships with all departments and at all levels to ensure hygiene can function efficiently and effectively with minimal disruption to production operations in a timely manner to meet our customer demands.
- To liaise closely with the chemical supplier on site audits and support the recommendations are implemented.
- Financially you are directly responsible for managing the head count within budget on a daily basis, chemical controls including titrations, water controls and PPE usage. Indirectly you are responsible for production efficiencies/downtime related to hygiene issues.
