Role title: HGV Driver
Pay rate: £17.80 per hour
Shift: Monday-Friday, 13:00-21:00
Location: Grimsby
Purpose of the role
To ensure the delivery andcollections of HSF goods safely and efficiently between HSF, customers, andthird-party warehouses.
To ensure the safety andconditions of all vehicles.
Responsibilities
- The safe transport of HSF goods.
- Providing good customer service at oursites
- Being a positive representative for thecompany whilst on the road
- Inducting new drivers
- Performing driver assessments andtraining to ensure drivers are competent and trained to correct standardswhile identifying areas of improvement and corrective action plan.
- Maintaining and conducting basic checksof their vehicle, including brake, oil, or tyre checks.
- Planning delivery routes and schedules.
- Driving large goods vehicles.
- Logging delivery information correctly.
- Having a strong awareness of the UKhighway code.
- Keeping vigilant of correct deliverytimes.
- Planning driver breaks for safetypurposes during long-distance hauls.
- Staying aware of any route diversions orupdates to their delivery journey
Qualifications
- A Category Class 1 DrivingLicence
- A valid DCPC
- A Valid Tacho card.
- Ideally previous experience ofdriving Class 1 vehicles in the UK or Europe
