Purpose of the role: To ensure the delivery and collections of HSF goods safely and efficiently between HSF, customers, and third-party warehouses. To ensure the safety and conditions of all vehicles.
As a HGV Driver some of the responsibilities will be to:
- The safe transport of HSF goods.
- Providing good customer service at our sites.
- Being a positive representative for the company whilst on the road.
- Inducting new drivers.
- Performing driver assessments and training to ensure drivers are competent and trained to correct standards while identifying areas of improvement and corrective action plan.
- Maintaining and conducting basic checks of their vehicle, including brake, oil, or tyre checks.
- Planning delivery routes and schedules.
- Driving large goods vehicles.
- Logging delivery information correctly.
- Having a strong awareness of the UK highway code.
- Keeping vigilant of correct delivery times.
- Planning driver breaks for safety purposes during long-distance hauls.
- Staying aware of any route diversions or updates to their delivery journey.
To succeed as a HGV Driver, we ask that you have the following experience/expertise:
- A Category Class 1 Driving Licence.
- A valid DCPC.
- A Valid Tacho card.
- Ideally previous experience of driving Class 1 vehicles in the UK or Europe.
