A Personal Trainer is responsible for delivering outstanding levels of service in supporting members in achieving their goals and the club in achieving its financial objectives.

What will I be doing?

  • Provide a friendly, efficient, and personalized service to all members and hotel guests, supporting their membership goals.
  • Run classes and provide coaching as scheduled by the Club Manager.
  • Proactively work with the sales team to support membership growth, including handling telecoms and prospect club tours.
  • Organise and schedule induction programs for members.
  • Act on member problems effectively or refer any issues you cannot resolve to your supervisor.
  • Maintain the Health Club & (Spa) cleanliness.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working Relations and Communications: Provides direct support to Club Manager, and the Health Club & (Spa) team. Interacts and communicates effectively with all members of the Health Club & (Spa) team, Guests, peer group and Regional Spa Director.
  • Commercial: Contribute to and review the club promotions plan. Maintain an awareness of consumer trends and competitor activity. Optimise income through the promotion of additional Personal Training service propositions.
  • Operational: Organise yourself and your work area/tools to ensure you can deliver excellent customer service. Schedule induction programs and Personal Training Sessions for members. Ensure all financial transactions are completed to company standard. Run classes/provide coaching as scheduled by the Club Management. Support club reception/operations when required. Adhere to company policies relating to Health & Safety at work.
  • Customer Service / Quality: Ensure all members and hotel guests are acknowledged immediately. Ensure all members and hotel guests receive a friendly, efficient service with appropriate personalised plans that support their membership goals. Deal with any member problems effectively and refer any which you cannot resolve to your supervisor. Support membership growth by working proactively with the sales team and supporting enquiry conversion via telecoms and prospect club tours. Demonstrate an awareness of member priorities and anticipate needs. Action all member requests in a friendly, efficient manner.
  • Teamwork: Work as part of the Fitness team, interacting positively with your colleagues. Attend any team briefings, meetings or training as required. Ensure your behaviour respects the perspective, privacy, safety and security of members and your colleagues. Provide constructive suggestions/feedback to the leadership group on product, process or learning delivery improvements. Always deliver your 'fair share' in team task elements of the role and support colleagues whose workload may temporarily exceed your own.

What are we looking for?

  • A strong level of confidence in swimming is essential.
  • Excellent team-working skills.

  • The ability to plan and prioritise your own workload.
  • A proactive approach to attracting optimum members to classes and maximising 1:1 opportunities.

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • Experience working as part of a team.
  • Experience working in a fitness role and with club-related pool plant.
  • NVQ (level 3) - Personal Trainer.
  • First Aid at Work certification.
  • Pool Attendant/Responder/Lifeguard qualification.
