PURPOSE: To support the housekeeping department by working in the laundry room and ensuring sufficient linen is available for daily operations. To maintain required productivity and standards in the housekeeping department. The role of a Laundry Attendant is a practical and manual job which includes bending, carrying, standing and pushing/pulling equipment.

MAIN DUTIES:

  • Soaking, ironing, folding, delivering clothes
  • Washing (loading and unloading washers, dryers and chutes) linen, e.g. gym towels, staff uniforms, rugs etc.
  • Examining laundered items to ensure cleanliness
  • Sorting and counting dirty linen coming from the chute
  • Placing clean linen and relevant pieces of uniform in plastic covers/containers
  • Issuing uniforms to the staff during opening hours
  • Storing hotel’s pillows, duvets, mattress/pillow protectors and toppers on shelves
  • Storing laundered linen and uniforms as requested
  • Sewing/mending torn articles by hand or with a sewing machine
  • Maintaining cleanliness of laundry machinery and laundry areas
  • Perform additional laundry services as required
  • Maintain stock levels
