We are seeking to employ a Consultant – MEP Portfolio Management to be based in our London office. Hilson Moran are interdisciplinary consultants, engineers and advisors, applying progressive design thinking to shape the environments we live in. We provide a full range of engineering services, exciting innovation and design solutions on a full range of projects from across our network of offices in the UK. Our recently refurbished London office – the Living Lab – offers a direct link to clients, the ability to further develop our existing relationships and to pursue future opportunities across the city. We also have full view of some of our most iconic designs, including 20 Fenchurch Street ‘the Walkie Talkie’ and 30 St Mary’s Axe ‘The Gherkin’ from our river café space.
Our MEP Portfolio Management team is growing, and we are seeking an individual who is passionate about improving building performance, reducing environmental impact, and enhancing occupant comfort. This role offers hands‑on technical delivery across a diverse portfolio of assets, with opportunities to develop your expertise and progress your career within a supportive and forward‑thinking team. As an experienced professional who ideally holds professional accreditation or is actively pursuing it, you will bring an extensive portfolio demonstrating your expertise and capabilities. You will play a key part in delivering high‑quality technical work across our portfolio management commissions. This includes inspections, analysis, reporting, and supporting clients in making informed decisions about their buildings and assets. You will work closely with senior colleagues, gaining exposure to a wide range of sectors and project types, while developing your skills and professional confidence.

Our Operational Buildings team optimise our clients’ buildings to be consistently desirable to tenants. And the key to this is maximising flexibility and occupant comfort.
Responsibilities- Support our clients in delivering all aspects of portfolio management, from MEP engineering services operation, from maintenance and plant replacement to building refit and refurbishment.
- Handover to delivery of Net Zero Carbon strategies, life‑cycle plans, upgrade projects, energy efficiency advice and independent technical support.
- Conduct Mechanical & Electrical Services Maintenance audits.
- Preparation of site visit risk assessments.
- Prepare condition and feasibility reports in an organised and structured manner.
- Attending/ Chairing review meetings with contractor and client.
- Conduct Surveys.
- Lifecycle plans.
- Providing technical support to clients.
- Procurement of maintenance contracts.
- License to alter reviews.
- TM44 Inspections.

- Minimum of BTEC or above in a Mechanical or Electrical discipline.
- Experience in a Mechanical & Electrical portfolio management role for a design consultancy or real estate client.
- Experience in Mechanical & Electrical service provider (M and E), Ex Armed Forces or Consultancy.
- Experience in energy and carbon consultancy.
- Maintenance management across multiple sectors, driving optimal asset performance.
- Conducting MEP due diligence inspections to inform investment, risk, and operational decisions.
- Technical investigation and fault diagnosis with practical, solution‑focused recommendations.
- Developing asset registers, maintenance audits, and lifecycle plans using data‑driven KPIs.
- Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements with proven competence.
- Incorporating environmental impact and occupier wellbeing into building operations.
- Commercial awareness with a clear understanding of client priorities and drivers.
- Building and maintaining positive client relationships through effective communication and reliable delivery.
