As part of our long‑term succession planning, we are seeking a mechanically biased Associate Mechanical Consultant to join our London team. For the right individual, this role offers a clear, unencumbered pathway to Project Director level and beyond, with genuine opportunity and no glass ceiling.
We’re looking for someone who brings strong mechanical engineering expertise and a proven ability to deliver projects across a variety of sectors. Equally important is the mindset: client‑focused, proactive, accountable, commercially astute, and consistently willing to go the extra mile. You will take ownership of project delivery, guide teams, and contribute meaningfully to the continued evolution of our design, technical, and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead mechanical design and project delivery from concept through completion.
- Coordinate and manage multidisciplinary project teams, both internally and externally.
- Take responsibility for project performance, programme, quality, and commercial outcomes.
- Apply commercial awareness to ensure efficient delivery, accurate forecasting, fee management, and value for clients.
- Provide exceptional client care, ensuring strong, long‑lasting relationships.
- Support fee proposals, bids, and project mobilisation activities when required.
- Contribute to company initiatives across design quality, technical development, and operational improvements.
- Mentor and support junior engineers to help develop next‑generation talent.
Background & Qualifications:
- Strong track record of delivering mechanical / MEP projects within a consultancy environment.
- Proven experience managing teams and taking accountability for project outcomes.
- Commercial awareness, with an understanding of project finance, profitability, and effective resource management.
- Ambitious and motivated, with a clear aspiration to progress into senior project leadership and director-level roles.
