Salaried GP required, 4 sessions to be worked over Wednesday and Thursday. We are looking for a salaried GP to join our practice until 31.12.26.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered patients.
Clinical Responsibilities:
- In accordance with your job plan, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.
- Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems.
- Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
- Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
- In consultation with patients and in line with current Practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health.
- Completion of clinically related administrative and non-clinical duties needed for the delivery of the service.
- Providing counselling and health education.
- Refer patients for further opinions and interventions according to practice protocols.
- Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
- Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions using EPS and ERD.
- Prescribing in accordance with the ICB prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate.

The practice is a friendly and cohesive unit. We are situated just outside Redditch town centre with excellent commuter links to Birmingham and surrounding areas. Our list size is 11,000 patients and is currently managed by 3 partners with 6 salaried GPs, 3 pharmacists, 2 Practice Nurses, 2 HCAs and an excellent administrative support team. We are high QOF achievers and we are actively engaged in our PCN. We have daily meetings which we encourage all doctors to attend. As well as the usual services, we provide minor operations and musculoskeletal assessment/injection clinics. We have motivated and supportive GPs with good subspecialty areas of expertise.
Our practice has worked closely for some years with 5 other local practices as part of an innovative neighbourhood team, which has now seen us develop our pro-active Primary Care Network. This provides GPs with increased opportunities for portfolio careers, career development and progression.

Maintaining, Monitoring & Updating Computer Database and Management of Medical Records & Practice Audits
- Ensure that practice clinical database is updated promptly and accurately with information relating to patient records, as required for clinical accuracy and for practice recording requirements under IM&T protocols, QOF and enhanced services.
- Respond to alerts on records.
- Participating in the collection and collation of statistics towards the preparation of practice reports, performance monitoring and audits.
- Participation in patient satisfaction audits.
Professional Development
- Participate in an annual performance review under agreed headings.
- Engage in appropriate educational activity to maintain clinical competence and performance.
- Attendance and participation in educational meetings in the Practice and externally.
- Support colleagues in their professional development.

Person Specification
- Qualifications: Qualified GP, MRCGP, General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training CCT).
- Applicants must have CCT since August 2023, and have not been employed in a substantive post since.
- Full GMC Registration.
- National Performers List registration.
- Appropriate defence indemnity (MPS/MDU/MDDUS).
- Eligibility to practice in the UK independently.
- Disclosure and Barring Service Check.
