Learning Support Mentor
Two-year Fixed Term, Full Time, Term Time Only
Start date: 20th August 2026
Pro-rata salary: £22,128 to £23,648 per annum (Support Staff Pay Spine Point 7, £25,951 per annum FTE, to Point 10, £27,733 per annum FTE)
Responsibilities- Provide one-to-one mentoring to support students accessing A-level courses.
- Facilitate group workshops to build study skills and confidence.
- Signpost students to relevant resources.
- Offer occasional in-class support, including note-taking assistance in classrooms or labs.
- Maintain student records and support organisation of workload.
- Liaise effectively with students and teaching staff.
- Support students during non-teaching times to promote independent work.
- Strong interpersonal skills and clear professional boundaries.
- Ability to work with young people, remain calm under pressure, and work as part of a team.
- Confident IT skills and ability to maintain digital records.
- Empathy for students aged 16-19 and a genuine desire to support their transition.
- Previous experience in an educational environment desirable.
