Location: Glebedale School, Stoke-on-Trent, ST4 3AY

Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum (depending on experience, not pro rata)

Hours: 37 hours per week | Monday to Friday | Various shifts

Contract: Permanent, 52 weeks

Start: October 2026

As a School Maintenance Worker in Stoke-on-Trent, you’ll play a big part in helping children and vulnerable adults achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out routine maintenance across the school site, including planned checks and minor repairs
  • Responding to faults and completing urgent repairs to ensure spaces remain safe and functional
  • Supporting the upkeep of buildings and grounds, helping maintain a clean, well-presented environment
  • Assisting with the preparation of rooms and facilities for day-to-day use and school activities
  • Working with site processes for reporting, recording and prioritising tasks
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements, including safe working practices
  • Liaising with colleagues so maintenance needs are communicated clearly and addressed efficiently

No two days are the same. From quick fixes to longer-term improvements, you’ll be part of a team that takes pride in getting things right, safely, promptly and with care.

About You

  • Experience in a maintenance, facilities, caretaking or similar role (or strong hands‑on skills gained in another setting)
  • A practical approach to troubleshooting and completing repairs
  • Good awareness of health and safety and safe systems of work
  • The ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively
  • Good communication skills and a positive, service‑focused attitude
  • A willingness to learn and develop your skills over time
  • Full UK driving licence is required
