As a School Maintenance Worker in Stoke-on-Trent, you’ll play a big part in helping children and vulnerable adults achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out routine maintenance across the school site, including planned checks and minor repairs
- Responding to faults and completing urgent repairs to ensure spaces remain safe and functional
- Supporting the upkeep of buildings and grounds, helping maintain a clean, well-presented environment
- Assisting with the preparation of rooms and facilities for day-to-day use and school activities
- Working with site processes for reporting, recording and prioritising tasks
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements, including safe working practices
- Liaising with colleagues so maintenance needs are communicated clearly and addressed efficiently

About You
- Experience in a maintenance, facilities, caretaking or similar role (or strong hands‑on skills gained in another setting)
- A practical approach to troubleshooting and completing repairs
- Good awareness of health and safety and safe systems of work
- The ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively
- Good communication skills and a positive, service‑focused attitude
- A willingness to learn and develop your skills over time
- Full UK driving licence is required
