About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Maths Teacher to join our specialist school, where every lesson has the power to transform a young person's future. This is an opportunity to teach in a supportive environment where relationships, wellbeing and personalised learning are at the heart of everything we do.

As our Maths Teacher, you'll deliver creative and engaging lessons that inspire pupils to develop confidence in numeracy, overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. Working as part of a skilled multidisciplinary team, you'll play a vital role in helping young people build the knowledge, skills and resilience they need to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

You may also take on the role of Form Tutor, providing pastoral support, building strong relationships with families and professionals, and helping pupils thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Deliver engaging and differentiatedMaths lessons that motivate and inspire learners.
  • Plan, prepare and adapt lessons to meet the individual needs of every pupil.
  • Monitor progress and use assessment effectively to drive achievement.
  • Promote positive behaviour through therapeutic and restorative approaches.
  • Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists and other professionals.
  • Support pupils' personal, social and emotional development.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and wider school activities.
  • Build strong partnerships with families and external agencies.

About you

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS or equivalent).
  • Has experience teaching Maths at secondary level.
  • Believes every young person can achieve and succeed.
  • Can build positive relationships and establish high expectations.
  • Is adaptable, resilient and committed to meeting individual learning needs.
  • Brings creativity, enthusiasm and a passion for teaching.
  • Experience within SEN, SEMH or specialist education is desirable but not essential.

Miller House School is a brand-new school located in Stoneygate, Leicester. The school opened in September 2025, has a capacity of 80 pupils, and offers a co-educational provision for students with complex needs, including SEMH.

Miller House School is a specialist SEMH setting for young people aged 11–16. We are committed to supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs, as well as autism and ADHD. Our safe and nurturing environment ensures every child is heard, seen, and supported to thrive.
