About the Role
Are you passionate about inspiring young people through creativity and practical learning? We’re looking for an enthusiastic Design & Technology Instructor/Teacher to deliver engaging, hands‑on lessons across multiple key stages. Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, you’ll help raise standards, support pupil progress and contribute to an ambitious, inclusive curriculum. You’ll need a strong understanding of workshop health and safety, alongside a passion for supporting pupils with SEND and SEMH needs. Most importantly, you’ll help young people build confidence, develop practical skills and discover their potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality Design & Technology teaching across Key Stages 1–4.
- Plan and teach engaging practical and theory‑based lessons in areas such as product design, resistant materials, carpentry, graphics, engineering principles and related disciplines.
- Use resources effectively to support high standards of learning and achievement.
- Work collaboratively with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure effective curriculum delivery.
- Undertake additional curriculum responsibilities as agreed with the Assistant Headteacher and Curriculum Lead.
- Act as a form tutor and positive role model, supporting students’ academic, social, and personal development.
- Support whole‑school literacy, numeracy and life skills initiatives.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of high‑quality SEND provision.
- Work closely with parents, external agencies, and young people with SEND, including those with SEMH needs, to promote effective inclusion.
