We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher & Reading Lead to join our specialist education team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an exceptional teacher to combine high-quality classroom practice with strategic leadership, shaping a whole-school reading culture that empowers students to achieve their full potential.

Working within a supportive and collaborative environment, you'll deliver engaging English lessons, support students with diverse learning needs, and champion reading initiatives that help learners develop the literacy skills they need for success both in education and beyond.

What you will be doing:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging English lessons.
  • Lead and promote reading initiatives across the school.
  • Monitor and assess student progress to drive achievement.
  • Support students' personal, social and emotional development.
  • Collaborate with education, support and care teams to ensure the best outcomes for learners.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and whole-school improvement.

What you will bring:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent required.
  • Experience teaching English across relevant key stages.
  • Passionate about literacy, reading and language development.
  • Ability to inspire and engage students who may have faced barriers to learning.
  • Strong classroom management and behaviour support strategies.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Committed to delivering outstanding outcomes for young people.

The Tower School is an independent specialist day school in Epping, Essex, supporting 62 pupils aged 11–18 with autism and complex needs. In a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment, pupils receive personalised support to develop academically, socially, and emotionally. Our curriculum blends academic learning with life skills and personal development, fostering confidence, independence, and resilience.

For over 19 years, Options Autism has provided specialist care and education for children, young people, and adults with autism, complex needs, and learning difficulties.
