Hillingdon Council is committed to enhancing our SEND Services, building on best practices from the SEND Reforms to deliver the highest level of support to children, young people, and their families. We are also working closely with educational settings to ensure that special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) are well supported. As part of our continuous improvement, we have refined the role of our EHC Coordinators to strengthen the statutory assessment process and improve co-production with professionals and families.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage the statutory assessment process for children and young people with SEND.
  • Co-produce Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) in collaboration with families and professionals.
  • Ensure a seamless assessment process, embedding the 'Tell Us Once' approach and building on Hillingdon's 'My Support Plan' framework.

We are seeking dedicated, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable practitioners who are passionate about improving SEND support across our local area. To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Experience in a Local Authority SEND Team or direct experience supporting SEND in an educational setting (e.g., Teacher, SENCo, or other qualified practitioner).
  • A strong understanding of the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively engage with families, professionals, and stakeholders.
