Overview

Hillcrest Academy is seeking to recruit two inspirational colleagues to the role of Early Years Level 1 SEND Teaching Assistant.

This role is important to our work as an Academy.

The successful candidate will work under the direct instruction of teaching/senior staff to support access to learning for pupils and provide general support to the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom.

Responsibilities

  • Support access to learning for pupils under the supervision of teaching staff.
  • Provide general support to the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom.

Qualifications

  • Early Years Qualification
  • Relevant experience with children aged 5 and under
  • Good numeracy/literacy skills
  • The ability to attend to the students’ personal needs, and implement related personal programmes, including social, health, physical, hygiene, first aid and welfare matters
  • Ability to assess pupils’ needs and implement appropriate support
