Overview
In this Finance Business Partner role, you’ll deliver financial insight and challenge to drive commercial decision-making within Operations. You’ll partner with stakeholders to improve efficiency, control costs, and support growth, while automating finance processes to free up time for value-added analysis. You’ll work with data to provide actionable insight, build relationships, and influence outcomes across the business. This is a hands-on role with visibility that blends traditional FP&A with continuous improvement and data-led finance.
Responsibilities
- Build strong relationships with Operations stakeholders to understand challenges, priorities and opportunities.
- Provide financial insight, guidance and constructive challenge for informed decision-making.
- Support leaders in delivering against financial and operational targets.
- Analyse financial and operational performance to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
- Present results and insights clearly to finance and non-finance audiences.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, planning and performance analysis.
- Analyse large datasets to uncover meaningful trends for the business.
- Develop and maintain dashboards/reports using Power BI and Tableau where appropriate.
- Improve accessibility and understanding of financial information to enable data-led decisions.
- Support month-end close activities and maintain strong financial controls and governance.
- Support SOX compliance and assist with audits.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen controls, improve processes and reduce risk.
- Identify and deliver automation for manual reporting and analysis processes.
- Leverage technology to increase efficiency and reduce non-value-added activities.
- Champion continuous improvement and cross-functional initiatives.
Key requirements
- Part-qualified accountant status (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Significant experience in Finance Business Partnering, FP&A or Commercial Finance.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to translate complex data into actionable insight.
- Advanced Excel and experience with large datasets.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities for non-finance audiences.
- Confidence to challenge and influence stakeholders constructively.
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of how finance supports business performance.
