We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Production Engineer to join the team here at Hunter Douglas. The Graduate Production Engineer is required to maintain regular communication with colleagues within the Technical / Quality Team, and across related teams such as Manufacturing, Maintenance, Procurement, and R&D.
As a Graduate Production Engineer, here's an idea of what you will be doing:
- Use lean manufacturing or Six Sigma techniques to reduce waste and increase efficiency.
- Analyse and improve production processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Support investigations into Quality defects and drive corrective actions.
- Lead New Production Introductions into manufacturing.
- Provide technical support & training for production operatives & Team Leaders.
- Develop, maintain and improve product technical / Quality specification.
- Work closely with R&D, Quality Control, and Production Management teams to ensure smooth production operations.
- Identify and resolve technical issues that arise during production.
- Provide technical support to Customer base.
- Assist and drive Automation of processes/data analysis via Digital tools (AI and Machine learning).
- Creation of Internal Bill of materials for each product type.
What we need from you:
- Degree in Production / manufacturing engineering.
- Knowledge of process improvement methods (e.g.: Lean, Six Sigma).
- Experience of CAD and automation software (inc. AI tools) would be beneficial.
- Critical thinking and innovative problem-solving to address and resolve production challenges quickly.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of attention to detail.
