We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Production Engineer to join the team here at Hunter Douglas. The Graduate Production Engineer is required to maintain regular communication with colleagues within the Technical / Quality Team, and across related teams such as Manufacturing, Maintenance, Procurement, and R&D.

As a Graduate Production Engineer, here's an idea of what you will be doing:

  • Use lean manufacturing or Six Sigma techniques to reduce waste and increase efficiency.
  • Analyse and improve production processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Support investigations into Quality defects and drive corrective actions.
  • Lead New Production Introductions into manufacturing.
  • Provide technical support & training for production operatives & Team Leaders.
  • Develop, maintain and improve product technical / Quality specification.
  • Work closely with R&D, Quality Control, and Production Management teams to ensure smooth production operations.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues that arise during production.
  • Provide technical support to Customer base.
  • Assist and drive Automation of processes/data analysis via Digital tools (AI and Machine learning).
  • Creation of Internal Bill of materials for each product type.

What we need from you:

  • Degree in Production / manufacturing engineering.
  • Knowledge of process improvement methods (e.g.: Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Experience of CAD and automation software (inc. AI tools) would be beneficial.
  • Critical thinking and innovative problem-solving to address and resolve production challenges quickly.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of attention to detail.
