We’re looking for an experienced Cook to join our dedicated commercial kitchen team in Cambridge. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside talented professionals committed to creating the high-quality food Hill Street is renowned for. You’ll also collaborate closely with our on-site small goods manufacturing and butchery operations.
To excel in this role, you’ll need:
- A genuine passion for food and working with people.
- At least one year of experience in a Cook position.
- Strong communication skills, with proficient written and spoken English.
- A proactive attitude, energy, and willingness to take direction.
- Commitment to following procedures and regulations, particularly regarding cleanliness, food handling, and workplace health and safety.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with a focus on quality control and product presentation.
- Physical fitness for lifting and standing throughout your shift.
- Full-time availability and reliable transportation (6 AM shift start).
What to expect:
This role involves working in a cool manufacturing and production environment with raw food products, including meat. You’ll need physical stamina for manual handling tasks such as bending, lifting, and moving items (16–55kg), in line with Australian Work Safe standards.
Pay rates are set by the Food, Beverage and Tobacco Manufacturing Award. The level classification and pay rate of the successful candidate will be based on experience (base hourly rate = $25 - $26 per hour).
