Hill McGlynn is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a valued client for an experienced Voids Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team, delivering high-quality repairs and refurbishment works across Lewisham. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a well-established contractor on a portfolio of social housing voids and planned works, where your commercial expertise will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and profitably.

The Role

As a Voids Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of multiple repairs and refurbishment contracts, including void properties. You will work closely with operational teams to ensure cost control, value for money, and contractual compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the full commercial lifecycle of voids and refurbishment projects
  • Preparing cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions
  • Valuations, variations, and final account negotiations
  • Monitoring project costs and identifying opportunities for savings
  • Producing accurate financial reports and forecasts
  • Ensuring compliance with contracts and client expectations
  • Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within repairs, maintenance, or refurbishment
  • Strong understanding of social housing contracts
  • Excellent commercial and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficient in cost management and reporting
  • Relevant qualification (HNC/HND/Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar preferred)
